About Us
Bringing Education, spiritual development and community life together
Zawiyah Hadiqa-tuz-Zahra is a community centre dedicated to spiritual development, education and community wellbeing.
Located in Frizinghall, Bradford, the centre provides a welcoming environment where individuals and families can learn, reflect and build meaningful connections.
Through educational programmes, spiritual gatherings and community initiatives, the Zawiyah supports personal development while strengthening the bonds that sustain healthy communities.
The centre operates as a registered UK charity and is open to people from all backgrounds who wish to benefit from its programmes and activities. The community has been gathering for these activities for over 15 years but has experienced significant growth and synergy in the last few years which has led to the need for a designated centre and charity formation to accommodate the growing numbers and push the planned initiatives.

Service
Service is core to our mission which means we prefer responsibility over convenience and commit to long term impact driven by action and consistency.
Our Values
Compassion
We serve people in strength and in vulnerability without compromising their dignity. We see souls rather than "cases". We lead with softness and empathy.
Our Values
Excellence
We commit to the highest standard in everything we do, understanding that our work is an act of worship and a reflection of our faith.
Purification of the Soul
What is Sufism?
When people hear the word Islam, they often think about law, prayer, and religious practice. But within Islam there is also a deeply spiritual path focused on love, inner transformation, and closeness to God. This path is called Sufism.
Sufism is often described as the "mystical dimension of Islam". It emphasises personal experience of the divine, purification of the heart, and developing a deep, loving relationship with God.
Tariqah Naqshbandiyyah
The Naqshbandi Way
The Naqshbandi Tariqah is a historic spiritual tradition within Islam that traces its lineage through Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, the close companion of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and ultimately back to the Prophet himself. It emphasises remembrance of God — particularly through quiet and reflective forms of dhikr — alongside service to others and active engagement within the community. Its teachings encourage the cultivation of strong character, humility and compassion in everyday life.
Today the tradition is guided by Shaykh Mehmet Adil ar-Rabbani, who succeeded his father, Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani. Shaykh Nazim himself succeeded his teacher, Shaykh Abdullah ad-Daghestani, continuing a chain of spiritual guidance that has been passed from teacher to student through generations back to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
